The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes lands with a hook. Meyer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Meyer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Meyer misses with a straight left.
Meyer throws a jab but it's blocked by Barnes.
Barnes scores with a jab to the body.
Meyer staying out of range there.
Barnes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Meyer slips under a jab.
Meyer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Meyer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barnes.
Meyer takes a swing at Barnes's ribcage but misses.
Meyer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Meyer looks to throw a body kick
and Barnes makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A nice leg kick lands there from Meyer.
Meyer connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Meyer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Meyer misses with a jab to the body
and Barnes counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've been told by Barnes's head coaches at Mentor Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A decent looking cross lands there for Barnes.

Oooh a lovely combination from Barnes sends Meyer down but not out. Barnes dives into side control looking to finish.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
I wouldn't like to be where Meyer is right now.

Barnes cracks Meyer with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Barnes immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Meyer is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Barnes!
