Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Menshikov (ranked 579 p4p, 452 weight class) and Full Time Panda (ranked 18 p4p, 14 weight class). Maxim Menshikov has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxim Menshikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Full Time Panda!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panda throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Panda comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Panda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Menshikov circles away quickly and effectively.
Panda has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Menshikov throws a big shot that misses.
Menshikov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Panda.
Menshikov has been working on his boxing with his coaches at PSE in the buildup to the fight.
Panda tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Menshikov was well out of range. Poor timing from Panda.
Panda shoots in for a takedown but Menshikov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Menshikov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Panda sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Panda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Menshikov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Panda is in Menshikov's guard.
Panda postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Menshikov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Menshikov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Menshikov wants to free his trapped foot but Panda is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Menshikov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Further stalling from Menshikov.

Panda is controlling Menshikov's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Panda throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Full Time Panda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Panda misses with a straight left.
A little feinted left hand from Menshikov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Panda lands a head shot.
Menshikov stalks Panda and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Panda's face. Panda staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Full Time Panda has been cut.
Nice sprawl there from Menshikov as Panda shoots in.
A combination from Menshikov does no damage.
Maxim Menshikov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Panda just misses with a punch to the body.
Menshikov is looking to counter punch.
Menshikov throws a big shot that misses.
Panda wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Panda swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Menshikov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Panda throws the left hand but Menshikov avoids the punch easily.
Panda takes one to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Panda takes one to the side of the head.
Menshikov slips a straight right by Panda.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Maxim Menshikov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Full Time Panda's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Panda bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Menshikov drops Panda with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Panda looks back up at him and smiles so Menshikov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Panda is rocked!
Menshikov throws a pinpoint strike between Panda's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Panda crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Menshikov scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Maxim Menshikov!
Our winner, Maxim Menshikov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
