Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Elkington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Delaney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elkington fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Delaney, pushing him back against the cage.

Elkington tightens his grip and picks Delaney up, before dumping him to the ground. Delaney manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Delaney controls Elkington momentarily but Elkington frees himself.
Delaney lands a decent punch to the body there.
Delaney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Elkington manages to get himself to full guard.

Elkington has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Delaney can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Elkington knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Delaney on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Delaney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Delaney will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Delaney had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Elkington is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Delaney Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Elkington's back instead.
Delaney is looking to control Elkington but Elkington is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Elkington wants to control his opponent's hands but Delaney gets his hands free.

Delaney is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Elkington knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Elkington for a finish.
