Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Redof Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, James Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Redof Castro!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Castro.
Green misses with a wild combination.
Castro moves in looking to clinch but Green pushes him off.
Green fails with a takedown attempt.
Green avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Castro tries to clinch but Green moves out of range.

Castro closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Green jumps guard but Castro stands there with Green around his waist. Green gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Green tries to score a body lock takedown but Castro shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Green wants to break the clinch but can't.

Green tries to break the clinch but Castro is controlling the position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Castro lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Green swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Green throws a combination. Castro tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Redof Castro has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Green misses with an uppercut.
Green swats away the attempt to clinch by Castro.
Green throws a right and a left that Castro avoids nicely.
Castro scores with a head kick.

Castro rushes Green and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Castro tries for a takedown. No joy.
Castro tries to land a knee to the head but Green blocks with his arms.

Green gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Castro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Castro tries to kick Green off but Green keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Green will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Castro looks gassed!
Green is pressing down on Castro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Castro is holding on for now.
Green passes the guard and advances to mount!
Castro tries to reverse the position but Green maintains control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Green lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Green landing strikes, looking to finish!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Green dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Green swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Castro moves out of range of the leg kick from Green.
Castro tries to clinch up.
Castro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Green is fending him off so far but Castro persists. Nope, Green circles away and we're back to standing.
Green scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Green fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Castro shoots in but Green avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Castro wants to clinch.
Green tries to clinch but Castro moves out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Green throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Castro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Castro is breathing heavily.
Castro can't keep his opponent in guard - Green advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Green trying to pass the guard but Castro defending well.

Castro manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Green misses the shot to the body.

Green tries to pull guard but Castro holds him up against the ropes and eventually Green drops back down to his feet.

Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Green paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Castro explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Green swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Green throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Green does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Green keeps the fight on the outside.
Green rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Castro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Castro closes the distance but Green moves to the side
and Green counters with a one-two to the body.

Castro has taken the fight to the clinch.

Castro ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Castro no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Castro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Castro lands a nice short elbow.

Castro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Castro looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Green has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Green is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
James Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Green moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Green seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Castro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Green is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Castro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Green.

Castro shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Castro was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Green wants to hold on but Castro pushes him away.

James Green showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Green, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
