PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathaniel Jones (ranked 4968 p4p, 5203 weight class) and Hun Razaer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Nathaniel Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hun Razaer!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a wild body kick that Razaer sees coming a mile off.

Razaer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Razaer showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jones regains full guard. Nicely done.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Razaer has eaten all the pies!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.


Razaer working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Razaer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Razaer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones wants to control from the top but Razaer keeps moving.

Razaer looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jones passes into half guard.

Razaer looking for submissions off his back.
Jones has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Razaer has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Jones escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Jones!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Razaer can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Razaer some visible discomfort.
Jones in side control lands a decent elbow.

Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Razaer keeps working.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Razaer has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Razaer struggling a bit here.
Jones in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Jones decides to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A jab from Razaer misses.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Razaer's guard.
Razaer can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Razaer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones.

Jones gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Razaer gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nathaniel Jones dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Razaer dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Razaer's head and hops out.
Nathaniel Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Razaer avoids the head kick by Jones.

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Razaer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Nathaniel Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Razaer looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Jones pushes past his half guard into mount!
Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Razaer tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Razaer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jones is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Jones lands with some strikes.
Razaer tries to control the position but Jones now has his back.
Jones is working the ground and pound. Can Razaer escape?
Razaer is keeping busy.
Jones lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Razaer hold on?!
Jones tries to keep control of the position but Razaer is staying busy.
Razaer is in bad spot here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones biding his time, looking for the opening.
Jones landing with strikes.
Razaer is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Jones is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Razaer. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
You can see the frustration on Razaer's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Jones looking to break Razaer's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Razaer remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jones will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Razaer can do to turn this around?

Jones lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Jones.
Jones has the hooks in. Razaer is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Jones lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Razaer trying to control but not successfully.

Razaer is trying to roll into a better position but Jones has get a rear naked choke and Razaer is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nathaniel Jones!
