Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rich Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samurai Darkness!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Darkness gets caught napping as Reed dives in and scores a takedown. Darkness manages to retain guard.
Reed sitting in guard here, content to control.
Reed scoring with some ground and pound.
Reed passes Darkness's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reed looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Darkness tries to roll over but Reed keeps him under control.
Reed looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Reed trying to control the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ground and pound from Reed.
Reed slips a nice elbow through Darkness's hands, connecting with Darkness's forehead.
Darkness is looking for a sweep. Reed is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Darkness really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reed decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Darkness enables Reed to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Darkness manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Reed stands up from Darkness's guard - Reed perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Reed pushes Darkness up against the cage in a clinch.
Reed swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Reed has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Darkness is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reed is trying to push Darkness away but Darkness has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Darkness lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Reed tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Reed is pressed up against the cage. Darkness has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reed down to the mat. Reed avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Darkness looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reed is fending him off so far but Darkness persists. Nope, Reed circles away and we're back to standing.

Darkness has Reed up against the cage in a clinch.
Darkness lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Darkness lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Darkness.

It looks like Rich Reed has been cut.
Reed tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rich Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reed takes an elbow to the forehead.
Reed blocks an elbow strike.
Reed takes an elbow to the forehead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reed tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Darkness smiles and moves away.

Reed shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Darkness tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Reed manages to move to mount!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Darkness fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Reed is looking to counter with head kicks.
Darkness is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Reed shoots in and gets a takedown into Darkness's guard.
Darkness wants to stand up but Reed is controlling him.
Reed works over Darkness with some ground and pound from guard.
Darkness being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reed's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Reed has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reed forces his way into half guard.
Reed keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Darkness is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Reed scores with a couple of nice shots.
Reed performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Reed passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reed has hold of Darkness's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Darkness tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Reed cranks the arm and Darkness screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Darkness, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rich Reed!
