Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Carter (ranked 6448 p4p, 5848 weight class) and Conor McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor has chosen The Foggy Dew as his entrance music. James Carter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter just misses with a punch to the body.
Carter lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
McGregor takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Carter scores with a nice strike.
McGregor is looking to land body kicks.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McGregor is defended easily by Carter.
A looping hook to the body misses from Carter. McGregor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Carter as McGregor shoots in.
Carter was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Carter scores with a jab to the head.
McGregor fails to land the takedown.
James Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor McGregor.
McGregor takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Carter bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McGregor's head.
Carter punishes McGregor's body with a nice straight punch.

Carter sizes up McGregor with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

McGregor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carter lands with a cross.
McGregor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Carter counters with a straight right hand.

McGregor tries to move into range but Carter moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

McGregor is rocked!
Carter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McGregor on the side of the head.
McGregor is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him?
McGregor moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
McGregor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carter finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Carter digs a good hook to McGregor's body.
McGregor seems to have recovered his senses.
Carter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Carter stuns McGregor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Carter lands with a straight right. McGregor didn't see that one coming.
Carter lands with a hook. McGregor tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Carter is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Carter lands a right hook to the body.
Carter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McGregor walks into a straight right hand from Carter.

Carter drops McGregor with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McGregor looks back up at him and smiles so Carter waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter cracks McGregor with a right hand to the side of the head.
BOOM! Carter lands a beautiful left hook that drops McGregor. McGregor tries to recover but Carter is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and McGregor lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Carter!
An out of breath James Carter thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Conor McGregor was interviewed post fight and said 'Fuck you khabib! you fricking mole rat! Im the king!'.
