Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Gunderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diago Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunderson tries to clinch up.
Gunderson throws a series of punches but Sanchez avoids them all with ease.
Sanchez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A cross from Gunderson lands.
Gunderson throws the kick towards the body but Sanchez avoids it.

Sanchez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gunderson manages to get to full guard.
Gunderson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sanchez dives into side control.

Sanchez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Sanchez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sanchez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gunderson is looking for a sweep.

Sanchez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gunderson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sanchez has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunderson is looking to reverse the position.

Sanchez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gunderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sanchez has hold of Gunderson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gunderson seems comfortable defending it but Sanchez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gunderson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gunderson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sanchez couldn't care less - he's delighted!
