Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diogo Jimenez (ranked 283 p4p, 1571 weight class) and Juan Diaz (ranked 36 p4p, 169 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diogo Jimenez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez misses with an uppercut.

Jimenez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Diaz can pounce on him.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Diaz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jimenez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jimenez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Diaz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jimenezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jimenez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diaz.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Diaz! But no joy.

Jimenez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jimenez's jab looks to have found its range, popping Diaz under the eye.

Diaz throws a head kick that misses
and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

And Diaz responds with a good body kick, but Jimenez manages to step out the way in time.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jimenez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Diaz - the referee stops the clock and Jimenez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Diaz. Jimenez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Diogo Jimenez spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
