The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vertongen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gaethje misses with a combination
and Vertongen counters with a stiff right hand.
Gaethje is looking to clinch but Vertongen is avoiding it.
Vertongen blocks a head kick by Gaethje.
Vertongen throws out a counter right but Gaethje avoids it with no problem.
Vertongen throws a quick inside leg kick.
Nice shot lands for Vertongen.
It looks like Justin Gaethje has been cut.
Vertongen throws a lazy right hand but Gaethje sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Vertongen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Gaethje closes the distance and clinches.
Gaethje escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
