Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kofi Jamay (ranked 1621 p4p, 2558 weight class) and Jeff Fafa (ranked 171 p4p, 252 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jamay might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to HUMBLE. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jeff Fafa was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamay scoring well with a low kick there.
Jamay misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fafa blocks a head kick by Jamay.
Jamay rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fafa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No joy there for Jamay, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A punch combination from Jamay misses.
Fafa feints a jab promting Jamay to slip. Fafa then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jamay slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jamay looks to land a combination but Fafa avoids it well.
Fafa tries to bum rush Jamay with a series of wild strikes but Jamay uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jamay misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jamay's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jamay duly obliges.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jamay is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fafa.

Fafa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jamay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jamay drops back looking for a leg! Fafa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fafa manages to kick Jamay off! Jamay jumps back into Fafa's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fafa has his hands on Jamay's head, controlling the position.
Jamay throws a big elbow that misses.

Jamay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fafa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jamay wants to control from the top but Fafa keeps moving.
Our spies down at at Navy Street MMA inform us that Fafa has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jamay slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jamay scoring with punches and elbows.
Jamay cracks Fafa with a big right hand but Fafa just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jamay creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Fafa sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jamay is looking to take a break and control but Fafa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jamay tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
We've been hearing that Jamay has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Jamay tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jamay has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jamay has hold of Fafa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fafa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jamay cranks the arm and Fafa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fafa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kofi Jamay!
Post fight, Kofi Jamay stared into the camera and said 'Call it a triple cuz that's three in a row. Yo Nick! Give ya boy the rematch we all wannit. Me and Ryan, this time for the title. He ain't catching me again lemme tell you that!'.
