PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Fratelli (ranked 4593 p4p, 4683 weight class) and Kevin Mcallister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Fratelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Mcallister!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fratelli misses with a right hand

and Mcallister holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mcallister tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fratelli wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mcallister tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fratelli just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mcallister jumps guard and drags Fratelli to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mcallister is looking for a triangle but Fratelli pushes his legs off easily.
Mcallister is controlling Fratelli's posture.
Fratelli wants to get up but he can't break Mcallister's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fratelli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fratelli got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcallister has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fratelli has managed to get both his arms back between Mcallister's legs - danger averted.

Fratelli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mcallister looking for a guillotine here but Fratelli defends easily.

Fratelli drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fratelli jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fratelli decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mcallister showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fratelli.
Mcallister unleashes a big counter combination but Fratelli bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Fratelli clobbers Mcallister with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mcallister walks into a stiff left hand from Fratelli.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mcallister with a hook.

Mcallister rushes Fratelli and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mcallister breaks the clinch.
Fratelli misses with the combination.
Mcallister wants to counter with a clinch but Fratelli pushes him away.
Fratelli falls off balance throwing a combination

and Mcallister counters with a takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fratelli struggling a bit here.
Mcallister content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Mcallister wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fratelli keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fratelli is trying to control Mcallister's posture but Mcallister avoids it.
Fratelli tries to buck Mcallister off but Mcallister is having none of it.
Fratelli sneaks back into half guard.
Mcallister is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fratelli has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Mcallister. Oh but Fratelli has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Mcallister goes limp - he's gone! Fratelli jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tony Fratelli!
