Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rice Flair (ranked 2217 p4p, 2663 weight class) and Zig Zig (ranked 285 p4p, 345 weight class). Zig Zig has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flair slaps away a takedown attempt from Zig, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Flair tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Zig counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Flair!
Zig tries to advance to mount but Flair denies him.
Flair is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flair can't do much from the bottom here.
Zig is looking to take a break and control but Flair is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Zig goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Flair rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Zig's guard! Nice work there by Flair!

Zig has his foot on Flair's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Flair works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zig is looking for a triangle but Flair pushes his legs off easily.
Zig is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Zig manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Flair manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flair is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Flair isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zig stacks Flair on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zig!

Zig is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Flair throws a body shot but no joy.
Flair fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zig manages to avoid it.

Zig feints and as Flair raises his hands in defense, Zig changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Flair controls Zig momentarily but Zig frees himself.

Flair escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zig gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Zig passes into half guard.
Zig is pressing down on Flair's thigh, looking to free his foot. Flair is holding on for now.

Flair tries to roll over but Zig keeps him under control.

Zig looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Flair got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zig has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flair has managed to get both his arms back between Zig's legs - danger averted.

Flair is posturing up here but Zig has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Flair tries to roll out but it's too tight and Flair has to tap! Slick submission there by Zig!
