Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn IronSide (ranked 3636 p4p, 24280 weight class) and Viktor Volkov (ranked 499 p4p, 664 weight class). Volkov has chosen Kickstart my heart as his entrance music. Viktor Volkov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that IronSide has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Volkov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Volkov gets tackled into the cage by IronSide. IronSide maintains the clinch.

IronSide is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Volkov is stalling here. IronSide is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Volkov seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and IronSide has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

IronSide takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Volkov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and IronSide has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Volkov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

IronSide seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Volkov for as long as he can get away with.

IronSide is hanging on to Volkov's back as he tries to escape.
Volkov grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

IronSide controlling well, preventing Volkov from escaping the position.
IronSide is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Volkov defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Volkov is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
