Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mace Willington Iii (ranked 1710 p4p, 1082 weight class) and Dwight Schrute (ranked 247 p4p, 160 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Willington Iii closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Schrute quickly recovers to half guard.
Willington Iii throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Schrute to regain full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Willington Iii goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Schrute has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Willington Iii but great work by Schrute.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Schrute has good solid back control here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Willington Iii rolls, trying to escape but Schrute keeps control of the position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Willington Iii trying to control the hands but Schrute won't let him.

Dwight Schrute dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Schrute throws a lazy right hand but Willington Iii sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Willington Iii drops down looking for a counter takedown but Schrute sprawls and moves away.
Willington Iii shoots in looking for a takedown. Schrute tries to sprawl out of it but Willington Iii keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schrute manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A little jabbing left from Schrute on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Willington Iii will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Schrute let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Schrute sends Willington Iii crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Schrute is motioning to the referee to let Willington Iii up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Willington Iii is rocked!
Willington Iii displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Schrute throws out the jab.
Willington Iii glances at the clock... BAM! Schrute nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Willington Iii crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Willington Iii is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
