Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastiao Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William MacDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Hypnotize. The crowd seem to be enjoying MacDonald's choice of entrance music: Millenium. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William MacDonald!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacDonald closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thomas circles away.
Thomas fails in his attempt to clinch.
MacDonald misses with a head kick.
Thomas tries for a takedown but MacDonald sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Thomas is looking to clinch.
MacDonald fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thomas.
Thomas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
MacDonald is looking to clinch.
Thomas wants to clinch.
Thomas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
MacDonald shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but MacDonald keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Thomas feints and as MacDonald raises his hands in defense, Thomas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Thomas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

MacDonald throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Thomas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
MacDonald throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
MacDonald is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Thomas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on MacDonald, up you get!
Thomas is breathing heavily.

MacDonald closes the distance and pushes Thomas back into the cage.
Thomas wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sebastiao Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MacDonald wants to get back to striking at distance but Thomas won't allow it.

Thomas breaks from the clinch.

MacDonald moves into range and clinches up with Thomas.
MacDonald tries to pull guard but Thomas holds him up against the cage and eventually MacDonald drops back down to his feet.
MacDonald jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. MacDonald gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

MacDonald rushes Thomas and presses him up against the cage.
Thomas looking to stall.
MacDonald misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Thomas.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thomas trying to control the position but instead, MacDonald has worked for underhooks and has pushed Thomas into the cage.

Thomas wants the takedown. MacDonald is fighting it off but Thomas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in MacDonald's guard against the cage.
MacDonald wants to sweep here but Thomas controlling him for the moment.
Thomas passes easily into side control. Nice work.
MacDonald tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thomas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
MacDonald takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
MacDonald is pushing Thomas's head away, looking to escape. Thomas manages to hold on to the position though.
Thomas is looking to take a break and control but MacDonald is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thomas in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Thomas trying to control the position but MacDonald is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacDonald is trying to improve his position.
Thomas in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

MacDonald shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

MacDonald is trying to land a reversal but Thomas doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle. Thomas is tightening it up though! This could be trouble for MacDonald! MacDonald trying desperately to escape but he's gone limp! He's out! Wooooorld class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Thomas!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Sebastiao Thomas!
