PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amr Zeineldin (ranked 4782 p4p, 4894 weight class) and Hayato Minowa (ranked 0 p4p, 530 weight class). Zeineldin comes to the cage accompanied by Song of Greatness. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amr Zeineldin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hayato Minowa!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zeineldin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Minowa slips a jab and a cross from Zeineldin.
Danga de danga de dang - Zeineldin scores with a four punch combination!

It looks like Hayato Minowa has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Zeineldin.
Minowa throws a shot to the body.
Zeineldin feints a jab promting Minowa to slip. Zeineldin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Minowa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Zeineldin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Minowa or perhaps it was just good defense by Zeineldin, which made it look bad.
Minowa is looking to clinch but Zeineldin is avoiding it.
Minowa throws a sloppy head kick and Zeineldin moves out of range easily.
Zeineldin misses with a series of wild punches.
Hayato Minowa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Minowa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Minowa lands in his opponent's guard.

Zeineldin pushes Minowa off and gets back to his feet.
Minowa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zeineldin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Minowa somewhat.
Zeineldin throws a big counter combination but Minowa scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Zeineldin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zeineldin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Minowa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Minowa wants to stand but Zeineldin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Zeineldin keeping moving, preventing Minowa from controlling successfully.
Zeineldin is pulling down on Minowa's head. It's preventing any offense from Minowa, at least for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zeineldin trying to keep a closed guard but Minowa is proving a slippery customer.
Minowa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Zeineldin is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Zeineldin lands a left and a right that send Minowa crashing to the mat, dazed. Zeineldin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Minowa is rocked!

That has opened up Hayato Minowa's cut even more.
Minowa closes the distance and clinches up with Zeineldin, looking for a takedown. Minowa pushes Zeineldin against the cage but Zeineldin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As Minowa tries to get set, Zeineldin tries to push him back and clinch up but Minowa manages to avoid the attempt.
Amr Zeineldin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayato Minowa.
Minowa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Minowa looks winded!
Minowa moves out of range as Zeineldin throws a body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zeineldin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Minowa throws a head kick but Zeineldin moves out of range.
Minowa tries to clinch but Zeineldin is having none of it.
Minowa checks a leg kick.
Minowa slips a jab and a cross from Zeineldin.
Minowa changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Zeineldin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Minowa steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Zeineldin.
Minowa tries to clinch there but Zeineldin circles away.
Minowa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Minowa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Amr Zeineldin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hayato Minowa's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Minowa is looking to land body kicks.
Minowa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zeineldin swivels and escapes.
Minowa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
It looked like Zeineldin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Minowa tries to close the distance and clinch but Zeineldin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zeineldin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Minowa circles away quickly and effectively.
Minowa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Amr Zeineldin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayato Minowa.
Zeineldin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Minowa wants to counter the offense by Zeineldin and move into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minowa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zeineldin's waist but Zeineldin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Minowa off to one side.
Amr Zeineldin is winning the standup battle so far.
Minowa is breathing heavily.
Zeineldin throws a series of strikes that have Minowa backpedaling.
Minowa throws a head kick that misses
and Zeineldin counters with a series of strikes. Minowa will be more careful next time no doubt.
Minowa is still on wobbly legs! Can Zeineldin finish him?
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Zeineldin has cracked Minowa with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Zeineldin lands another huge swinging hook and Minowa tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Minowa, before Zeineldin can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Amr Zeineldin!
After the fight, Amr Zeineldin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
