PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ostensibly Magnificent (ranked 2930 p4p, 3469 weight class) and Schwing Batta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magnificent comes to the cage accompanied by Magically Delicious. Batta has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magnificent lands with a good body shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A left hand lands to the body for Magnificent.
Batta looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Magnificent throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Magnificent has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Batta uses from the top position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Magnificent holds on and takes a little breather.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Magnificent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Batta is one step ahead there.

Magnificent bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Batta 's guard.

Batta can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Magnificent controls the pace.

Batta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magnificent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee asks Magnificent politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Magnificent prefers to stall for the moment though.
Magnificent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Magnificent's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Magnificent tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Magnificent has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magnificent looks up at the clock and then as Batta takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Magnificent smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Batta is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Magnificent remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A very excited looking Ostensibly Magnificent rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
