Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denis Freire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Pireli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Pireli will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freire misses with an uppercut.
Freire looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Freire circles away from the clinch attempt.
Freire thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pireli if he has to take too many more of those.
Pireli will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pireli looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pireli changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Freire tries to avoid it but Pireli manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Freire to the ground. Freire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Denis Freire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Pireli.

Pireli shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pireli wants to stand but Freire is controlling his posture from full guard.

Pireli tries to free his leg and advance position but Freire is retaining full guard.
Pireli throws a big right hand that misses.
Freire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pireli on the ground.
Freire looking to control but Pireli passes into half guard.
Pireli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Freire keeps working.
Pireli wants to free his trapped foot but Freire is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pireli fails with a takedown attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Horrible takedown by Pireli or perhaps it was just good defense by Freire which made him look bad.

Freire lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pireli at a distance.
Freire pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pireli fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Freire shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pireli's guard.

Freire avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pireli not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Freire might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pireli is looking to sinch up a triangle. Freire throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Pireli's body to avoid the submission. Pireli has instead reached around Freire's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Pireli arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
