Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dad Bod!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bod waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Duggan.
Duggan attempts a counter takedown but Bod avoids it well and moves away.
Duggan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bod throws a looping overhand right but Duggan ducks down to avoid it.
Bod misses with a lunging right hand

and Duggan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Duggan.
Duggan wants to control from the top but Bod keeps moving.
Bod wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duggan trying to control the position from guard on top but Bod is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duggan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Duggan looking to sit in guard and control but Bod gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Duggan wants to hit a sweep here but Bod passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Duggan there!
Duggan gets back to half guard.
Duggan wants to get back to full guard.
Bod perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duggan is looking for a sweep. Bod is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duggan throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Bod manages to pass to side control.
Duggan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bod wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Duggan is trying to control Bod's posture but Bod avoids it.
Duggan tries to bench press Bod off him but Bod keeps the position.
Duggan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Duggan tries to roll over but Bod keeps him under control.
Bod is taking a breather. Duggan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Duggan wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bod feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Duggans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looks like Jim Duggan has been cut.
Duggan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bod misses with an uppercut. Duggan saw that one coming.
Duggan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bod manages to circle out of the way.

and Bod counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dad Bod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bod misses with an uppercut. Duggan saw that one coming.
Duggan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bod counters with a nice uppercut.

Duggan is rocked!
Bod throws a pinpoint strike between Duggan's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Duggan crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Bod scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dad Bod!
