The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercado lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
We've been hearing reports that Nut Shot has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mercado tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nut Shot is able to avoid easily.

Mercado's coach down at Bone Breakerz was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mercado's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mercado. Nut Shot does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nut Shot attempts a counter takedown but Mercado avoids it well and moves away.
