Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Dent (ranked 6877 p4p, 24090 weight class) and Jason King (ranked 734 p4p, 0 weight class). Dent's entrance music is Dr. Feelgood. A fine choice. King comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hail To The King kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bobby Dent has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason King!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dent avoids a punch combination nicely.
King looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Dent shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with King but King pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dent.

King can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dent controls the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dent is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dent's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dent closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dent cracks King with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Dent is staying tight to King's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dent lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear King down.
A lull in the action here as Dent stalls from top position.

King is trying to drag Dent to the mat but Dent just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dent is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that King can do to turn this around?

Dent has picked King up - he's going for a ride! Dent dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Well, if Dent is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Dent lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Dent working over King with some ground and pound. King looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Still in half guard, Dent seems content to control.

King defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dent.
King is bucking up trying to escape but Dent cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Dent lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dent looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dent fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dent tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Dent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dent is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. King can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Dent lands a couple of good shots and King has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Dent controlling the positon.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Dent is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Dent is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. King knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften King for a finish.

Dent scores with punches and elbows.
Dent is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Dent gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Dent gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Dent apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dent engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dent stands up over King, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dent is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Dent.
Dent continues to hold on tight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobby Dent showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dent, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
