PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Bear (ranked 2585 p4p, 21987 weight class) and Lotay Wangchuck (ranked 313 p4p, 635 weight class). Lotay Wangchuck will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Teddy Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Lotay Wangchuck!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wangchuck shoots in for a double leg but Bear sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Wangchuck shoots in for a takedown but Bear shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Teddy Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lotay Wangchuck.
Bear's corner calls for a 1-2. Bear obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bear drops Wangchuck with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Wangchuck looks back up at him and smiles so Bear waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Lotay Wangchuck has been cut.

Wangchuck shoots in for a double leg but Bear sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wangchuck dives in for a single leg takedown but Bear sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice straight punches there by Bear. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bear.
Bear misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Bear counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wangchuck throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bear's waist but Bear gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wangchuck off to one side.

and Bear counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Bear throws a body punch but Wangchuck moves out of range.

Wangchuck manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bear on his heels. He'll look to pass Bear's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bear is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wangchuck is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wangchuck is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bear is aware though and is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bear has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Wangchuck looking for a guillotine here but Bear defends easily.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!

Wangchuck shoots in but Bear avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bear appears to be looking for a big counter.
Bear throws a right hand that Wangchuck ducks under and follows up with a left that Wangchuck also avoids with ease.
And Wangchuck tries to counter it with a takedown but Bear pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Teddy Bear is winning the standup battle so far.
Bear ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wangchuck moves away.
Wangchuck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bear but Bear pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've been informed that Wangchuck has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

and Bear counters with a crisp one two that drops Wangchuck! Bear thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Wangchuck to his feet! Wangchuck is in big trouble!

Bear looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wangchuck is fending him off so far but Bear persists. Nope, Wangchuck circles away and we're back to standing.

Wangchuck closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bear to the mat! Bear manages to get full guard.

Bear has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wangchuck is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Bear is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wangchuck can do to turn this around?
Wangchuck tries to pull guard but Bear won't allow it.

Bear dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Wangchuck goes for a double leg but Bear avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bear continues to drive forward.
Bear shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wangchuck sprawls well. Wangchuck wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.
Wangchuck changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bear tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wangchuck was well out of range. Poor timing from Bear.
Bear throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wangchuck sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Wangchuck shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wangchuck was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Bear bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
A looping hook to the body misses from Bear. Wangchuck does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bear swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A left lands for Bear.

Wangchuck shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bear sprawls well. Bear wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wangchuck gets slowly back to his feet.
Bear throws the left hand but Wangchuck avoids the punch easily.

Wangchuck uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bear.
Wangchuck goes for a double leg but Bear avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bear continues to drive forward.
Wangchuck tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bear swivels and escapes.
Bear fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wangchuck looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wangchuck is breathing heavily.
Bear connects with a right that clearly hurt Wangchuck. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Bear proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Wangchuck collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Teddy Bear!
Teddy Bear bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
