Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 16 - 3, fighting out of London, Joe Smith!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhammad Jabbar!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a predictable looking body shot
and Jabbar makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Jabbar swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Smith was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Jabbar appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Smith throws a head kick that misses
and Jabbar counters with a nice uppercut.
Smith throws a poor cross that misses
and Jabbar counters with a stiff right hand.
Jabbar misses with a body kick.
Smith connects with a single shot there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jabbar lands a head shot.
Jabbar ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Jabbar swings widly with a right hand
and Jabbar takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jabbar thuds his right hand into Smith's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Smith avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jabbar is looking to chop away at Smith's legs.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jabbar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Jabbar moves away and avoids it.
Nice jab there from Jabbar.
Jabbar defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.

Jabbar fakes the leg kick and cracks Smith in the body.
Jabbar misses with a hook.
Smith throwing a counter right hand but Jabbar manages to avoid it.
Jabbar lands a nice looking kick to the body. Smith takes a step back to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith thows a left - swing and a miss!
Smith closes the distance but Jabbar moves to the side
and Jabbar counters with a nice kick to the body.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jabbar let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Smith has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jabbar.
Jabbar jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith looks to land a left hand but Jabbar moved out of range nicely.
Jabbar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jabbar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.
Smith misses with a head kick.
Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jabbar. Jabbar obviously looking to wear him down.
Jabbar lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Jabbar ducks down to avoid it.
Jabbar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Nice uppercut there from Jabbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jabbar staying out of range there.
Nice defenses there by Jabbar.
Jabbar throws a poor cross that misses
and Jabbar takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nice cross by Smith.
Joe Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jabbar misses with a straight right.
Smith thinks about countering with a head kick.
Donk. Smith catches Jabbar right on the button with a cross.
Jabbar stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jabbar has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Smith misses with a hook.
Jabbar throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
It appears Smith was looking to counter with a kick there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Muhammad Jabbar dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Smith's corner calls for a 1-2. Smith obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jabbar looks for the body kick but Smith saw that one coming.
A quick step to the side and Smith tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jabbar looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Smith throws a poor cross that misses

and Jabbar counters with a crisp right hand that drops Smith! Jabbar lets Smith back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Joe Smith has been cut.
Jabbar changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jabbar drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Jabbar waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Smith is rocked!
Jabbar takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jabbar ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Smith's jaw. Smith's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Jabbar does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Muhammad Jabbar! Muhammad Jabbar retains his middleweight title!
An out of breath Muhammad Jabbar thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
