Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kana Palowunu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos The Animal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palowunu comes to the cage accompanied by Forget about Dre. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palowunu looks for a takedown but The Animal sprawls well.
Palowunu looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The Animal wants to clinch up but Palowunu keeps it at a distance.

The Animal drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The Animal wants to control but Palowunu is keeping him busy.
Palowunu tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The Animal connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Palowunu some visible discomfort.
Palowunu is looking to regain half guard here but The Animal keeps moving and retains side control.
Palowunu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The Animal wants to control but Palowunu is keeping him busy.

Palowunu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Animal on the ground.
Palowunu is not content to let The Animal control the position.

Palowunu fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches The Animal on the side of the head.

and The Animal counters with a single leg into guard. Palowunu didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kana Palowunu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The Animal stands and throws Palowunu's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The Animal decides to stand back up.

Palowunu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Horrible takedown by The Animal or perhaps it was just good defense by Palowunu which made him look bad.
