Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Udonis Okoro (ranked 6722 p4p, 2021 weight class) and Long Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Okoro might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The HU - Sad But True. Wang has chosen ﴾ ᴿᴲᴰ ﴿ as his entrance music. Udonis Okoro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Udonis Okoro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Long Wang!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okoro thows a leg kick but Wang checks it

and Wang counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Okoro wants to stand back up but Wang manages to pass into side control.
Wang controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wang's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Okoro throws a sloppy head kick and Wang moves out of range easily.
Okoro takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The fight stays on the outside here - Okoro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wang jabs Okoro right on the nose. Okoro blinks but takes it well.
Udonis Okoro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wang gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Okoro swings wildly with an uppercut but Wang uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wang lands a right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Okoro wants to get back to striking at distance but Wang won't allow it.

Okoro fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Wang stalling against the cage.
Okoro is trying to break the clinch but Wang is controlling him.
Okoro definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wang lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Crunch! Wang slams his shin into Okoro's torso.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Okoro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wang manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wang let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Udonis Okoro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wang cracks a nice hook into Okoro's ribs.
Okoro attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Okoro moves in looking to clinch but Wang pushes him off.
Wang lands a body shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Good standup being displayed there by Wang as he connects with a hook.
Wang comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wang misses with a series of wild punches.
A low kick lands for Wang.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Long Wang dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wang lands with a good body shot.
Okoro tries to clinch but Wang moves out of range.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Okoro throws a nice inside leg kick.

and Wang counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Okoro wants to clinch but Wang slips to the side

and Wang counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wang.
Okoro wants to get back to his feet but Wang passes into half guard.

Wang has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wang in particular looking to stall.
Okoro is in trouble now - Wang has advanced to mount!

Okoro is bucking up trying to escape but Wang cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Wang lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wang cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wang tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Wang has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Wang.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Yet more stalling tactics from Wang.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Long Wang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Okoro misses with a series of wild punches.
Wang appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

and Wang connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wang comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Okoro throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wang counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Okoro dodges the punch combination from Wang.
Wang scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Okoro throws a lazy head kick
and Wang counters with a nice body shot.
Wang is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Okoro rather than just go for the knockout.
Wang throws a right and a left that Okoro avoids nicely.
Wang lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Okoro at a distance.
Wang lands with a good body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Okoro with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wang to score with a decent uppercut.
Okoro takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A jab lands there for Wang.
Long Wang seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wang digs a good hook to Okoro's body.
Wang swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Okoro.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wang fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Okoro looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Okoro throws a body kick that misses

and Wang decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Okoro's guard.

Wang is working for a guillotine from mount but Okoro frees his head quite easily.

Wang tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Long Wang has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You get the feeling that Okoro really doesn't like being in this position too much.

And that's the end of the fight!
Long Wang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wang has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
