PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sizzle Snappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Potempkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snappe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Power. On his way into the cage it seems that Sizzle Snappe has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sizzle Snappe seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potempkin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Snappe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Snappe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Potempkin sprawls well initially but Snappe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Potempkin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Snappe is working away from the top position though.
Snappe trying to pass the guard but Potempkin defending well.
Potempkin wants to control but Snappe is keeping busy.
Potempkin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Snappe scores with a couple of nice shots.

Snappe is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Potempkin defends it well.
Snappe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Potempkin's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potempkin trying to control but Snappe postures up.
Potempkin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snappe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Potempkin is not content to let Snappe control the position.
Snappe passes the guard and advances to mount!
Snappe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Potempkin is looking to escape.
Potempkin is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Potempkin wants to control but Snappe is having none of it.
Potempkin is bucking up trying to escape but Snappe cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Snappe dominating with strikes here.
Potempkin tries to reverse the position but Snappe maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snappe working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Potempkin looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Snappe! Submission of the night perhaps?
