Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryant Smith (ranked 866 p4p, 1896 weight class) and Alla Pugacheva (ranked 108 p4p, 249 weight class). Smith's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Television - Marquee Moon. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith lands with a right hand.
Pugacheva tried to score with a low kick but Smith checks it.
Pugacheva ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Pugacheva looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith throws a hook to the side of Pugacheva's head but Pugacheva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pugacheva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.
Smith throws a series of punches but Pugacheva moves out of range.

Smith cracks a nice hook into Pugacheva's ribs.
Pugacheva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pugacheva slips under a jab from Smith.
Pugacheva takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Pugacheva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pugacheva tries to stall but Smith uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Pugacheva throws a knee to the head but misses.
Pugacheva lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Smith lands an uppercut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pugacheva creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Pugacheva scores with a nice hook to the head.
Smith lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Pugacheva backwards.
Smith tries a body shot but Pugacheva blocks it.

Smith works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Pugacheva lands a right hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
Pugacheva blocks an uppercut.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pugacheva! But no joy.
Pugacheva fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smith checks it well.
Smith scores with a jab. Pugacheva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith throws out a leg kick but Pugacheva moves out of range and Smith only half commits.
Smith misses with a two punch combination.
Smith misses the shot to the body.
Pugacheva appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Smith avoids the body shot from Pugacheva.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bryant Smith dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
