The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jenkings as he jumps to the side.

West feints and as Jenkings raises his hands in defense, West changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
West sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jenkings's guard.
Jenkings is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
West throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

West is working for a kimura but Jenkings is defending it quite comfortably.
Jenkings is looking to improve his position.

Jenkings is defending against the submission attempts here by West.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jenkings can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

West has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
West is trying to keep Jenkings in close.
West will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jenkings drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of West's head, knocking him out cold! Jenkings is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
