The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinnie works Santiago's body with a nice hook.

Shinnie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Santiago.
Santiago cracks Shinnie with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shinnie stands up from Santiago's guard - Shinnie perhaps looking for a knockout.
Oh Santiago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Santiago bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Shinnie cracks Santiago with an uppercut from hell and Santiago crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Shinnie's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Shinnie stands and steps away. Santiago gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Santiago throws a hook to the side of Shinnie's head but Shinnie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Shinnie throws out a loose jab but Santiago uses good head movement to avoid it.
Santiago is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shinnie.
Santiago gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Santiago throws a right and a left that Shinnie avoids nicely.

Santiago takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Santiago throws a hook but Shinnie avoids it easily.

and Shinnie counters with a lovely straight right hand!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shinnie throws a nice looking combination but Santiago bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
As Shinnie looks to move away, Santiago throws a big counter combo but Shinnie just gets out of the way.

Shinnie moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Santiago goes down! Can Shinnie finish him!?

Shinnie gets to his feet. Santiago looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Santiago's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Santiago appears to be looking for a big counter.
Shinnie connects with a right that clearly hurt Santiago. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Shinnie proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Santiago collapses and taps out under the pressure!
