Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Papa John (ranked 1994 p4p, 1898 weight class) and Benji Torres (ranked 278 p4p, 266 weight class). Benji Torres has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Papa John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Benji Torres!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres misses with a straight right.
A slow jab from Torres misses its intended target.
John slips under a jab from Torres.
Torres throws the left hand but John avoids the punch easily.
John slips a straight right by Torres.
Torres misses with a looping right.
John half committed to a counter leg kick.
Torres throws a right hand that misses
enabling John to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Torres misses the shot to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Torres.
It looks like Papa John has been cut.
Torres throws a shot from downtown. John moves away and avoids it.
A little feinted left hand from John on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
John slips a straight right by Torres.
A quick step to the side and John tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
John defending well as Torres loads up on a big left hand.
It looked like John was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Torres.
Torres throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck John on the side of the head.
Torres cracks John with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends John tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Torres pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! John is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benji Torres!
