Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruno Sultan !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Timmy Blanchard!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sultan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Blanchard was covering up waiting for the punch and Sultan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sultan cracks Blanchard with a solid left hand.
Sultan trying to control the position from guard on top but Blanchard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Blanchard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sultan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sultan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sultan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Blanchard wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sultan throws a strike but Blanchard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sultan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Blanchard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Blanchard wants to control from the top but Sultan keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Blanchard is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Blanchard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sultan 's guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Blanchard's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Blanchard is stalling here. Sultan is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Blanchard seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sultan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sultan throws an elbow but Blanchard slips to the side and avoids it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sultan is working to tighten his grip on Blanchard's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Blanchard has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sultan is really squeezing tight and eventually Blanchard passes out! Sultan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
