Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Day (ranked 1208 p4p, 1139 weight class) and Lewis Burwell Puller (ranked 72 p4p, 64 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Puller's choice of entrance music: Hello. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mikey Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lewis Burwell Puller!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puller scores with a jab. Day acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lewis Burwell Puller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puller throws a right and a left that both miss.
Puller bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Day drives through and clinches with Puller against the ropes.
Day doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Puller lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Puller working aggressively here.
A short left from Puller.
Puller swings wildly with an uppercut but Day uses good head movement to avoid it.
Day makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Day.
Puller looking to throw knees to the head but Day is blocking nicely.
Day presses Puller against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Puller putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Day in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Puller lands a right hand that snaps the head of Day backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Day.
Day misses with the head strike.
Day misses with a hook to the ribs.
Puller blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Day doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Puller misses with a hook from the clinch.

Day is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Puller can't fight it off and eventually Day manages to take the fight to the floor. Puller looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Puller has his foot on Day's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Day works his way back into a safe position though.
Puller is trying to control the position but Day postures up.
Puller trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Puller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Day's guard.

Puller wants to get up but he can't break Day's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Puller missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Puller throws a big right hand that misses.
Day being controlled here, momentarily.
Day trying to control the position here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Day is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Puller throwing strikes but missing.
Puller controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Puller trying to control but Day is working from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Good standup being displayed there by Puller as he connects with a hook.

Day dives in and scores a takedown into Puller's guard.
Puller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Puller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Day wants to control from the top but Puller keeps moving.

Day won't allow Puller to sweep him here.
Day postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Day preventing the sweep.
Day pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Puller is keeping the position for now.
Day trying to control the position from guard on top but Puller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Day throws a jab when Puller was well out of range.
Day thumps Puller with a low kick.

Puller lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Day sprawling to the canvas. Puller follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Day hang on?

Day is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Day taking some punishment here, with Puller in his half guard.
Oh Day is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Puller not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lewis Burwell Puller dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Puller throws a lazy right hand but Day sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lewis Burwell Puller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Puller tries to clinch up but Day circles away and keeps his distance.
Day is looking to counter punch.
Puller looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
and Puller counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Day! He's just covering up as Puller starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lewis Burwell Puller!
