The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arones swings for the body but Abel moves out of range.
Arones thuds a left hand into Abel's body.
Abel has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Arones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Abel was well out of range. Poor timing from Arones.
Arones misses with a takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Abel throws a chopping leg kick but Arones manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Abel throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Arones's head.

It looks like Gabriel Arones has been cut.
Arones moves away from the strike by Abel.
Arones loads up on a big right hand but Abel slips the punch.
Abel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Arones takes a swing at Abel's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abel ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Arones throws a nice looking combination but Abel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Abel throws a head kick but Arones moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Arones 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abel went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Arones throws a lazy right hand but Abel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Abel appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Abel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
