Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clint Bishop (ranked 25111 p4p, 5080 weight class) and Bosque Trabuco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bishop has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Clint Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bosque Trabuco!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bishop throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Trabuco was covering up waiting for the punch and Bishop finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Trabuco is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Trabuco looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Trabuco looking for a sweep. Not yet Trabuco, not yet.
Bishop throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trabuco pulls Bishop in close to his closed guard and prevents Bishop from doing any damage or advancing position.
Let's hope that Trabuco has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bishop looking to sit in guard and control but Trabuco gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bishop is breathing heavily.
Trabuco pushes down on Bishop's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Bishop keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Trabuco performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Trabuco is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trabuco is taking a breather. Bishop says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Trabuco.
Bishop looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Trabuco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Trabuco controlling the pace.
Trabuco winds up and cracks Bishop with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bishop is looking to control Trabuco's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bishop avoid being mounted?
Bishop keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trabuco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bishop does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bishop tries to get to full guard but Trabuco has control of the leg.
Trabuco seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Trabuco takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Trabuco lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trabuco is pressing down on Bishop's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bishop is holding on for now.
Trabuco with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bishop on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bishop tries to get out of the position.
Trabuco uses his free foot to push down on Bishop's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bishop.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Trabuco lands a big elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bosque Trabuco dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Trabuco closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bishop quickly recovers to half guard.
Bishop is refusing to be controlled, as Trabuco sits in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Trabuco connects with a nice short shot to Bishop's temple.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ground and pound from Trabuco.
Trabuco scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Trabuco moves nicely into side control.
Trabuco in side control lands a decent elbow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bishop is rocked!
Trabuco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Trabuco wants to control but Bishop is keeping him busy.
Trabuco has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Trabuco lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bishop down.
Bishop takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Oh Bishop is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Trabuco landing strikes.
Trabuco cracks Bishop with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Trabuco immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Bishop is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Trabuco!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bosque Trabuco!
