PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Leblanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biggie Saulnier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leblanc comes to the cage accompanied by dirty house. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Leblanc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Biggie Saulnier!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saulnier shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Leblanc looks to land a combination. Saulnier sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Biggie Saulnier has been cut.
A punch combination from Leblanc misses.
Leblanc rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Saulnier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Leblanc stalks Saulnier and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Saulnier's face. Saulnier staggers backwards, shaken.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Saulnier is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Leblanc.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Leblanc misses with a series of wild punches.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Leblanc digs a good hook to Saulnier's body.

Leblanc looks to land a combination but Saulnier avoids it well.
Leblanc lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Saulnier backs up against the cage.
Saulnier tries for a takedown but Leblanc sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Saulnier prevents Leblanc from standing back up.
Leblanc knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saulnier on the ground.

Leblanc throws a right and a left that both miss.
Saulnier tries to close the distance and clinch but Leblanc swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Leblanc looks to land a left hand but Saulnier moved out of range nicely.

and Saulnier counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leblanc is trying to get back to his feet.

Saulnier decides to stand back up. Saulnier steps back and let's Leblanc get back to his feet.

Saulnier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Saulnier uses his free foot to push down on Leblanc's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Leblanc.

Leblanc's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Leblanc throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Saulnier throws a sloppy head kick and Leblanc moves out of range easily.
Pierre Leblanc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leblanc throws a right and a left that Saulnier avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saulnier looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Saulnier shoots in looking for a takedown. Leblanc tries to sprawl out of it but Saulnier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Leblanc manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leblanc throws a series of punches but Saulnier avoids them all with ease.
