The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt shoots in but no luck this time.
Hunt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Romero closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hunt circles away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Hunt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hunt gets a clinch.

Romero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Romero leaves Hunt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hunt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Romero wants to counter with a clinch but Hunt pushes him away.

Romero darts in and clinches Hunt up against the cage.

Romero slips a nice elbow through Hunt's hands, connecting with Hunt's forehead.
Romero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunt keeps working.
