The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killjoy lands with a right hand.

Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Killjoy is trying to break free.
Silva is struggling to control the position.
Killjoy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Killjoy enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Killjoy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Killjoy shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Killjoy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Killjoy shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Killjoy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Killjoy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Killjoy somewhat.

Killjoy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Killjoy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silva lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Killjoy misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
Killjoy is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
