Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Rodriquez (ranked 4641 p4p, 2614 weight class) and Sergei MiG (ranked 520 p4p, 311 weight class). MiG has chosen Zombie as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Nick Rodriquez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nick Rodriquez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergei MiG!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MiG lands a really nice looking cross but Rodriquez seems unphased.

It looks like Nick Rodriquez has been cut.
Rodriquez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
MiG rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rodriquez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've been informed that MiG has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rodriquez misses with a takedown

and MiG counters by clinching up.
Rodriquez looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Rodriquez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by MiG after a bit of a struggle.
Rodriquez is looking to take this one to the mat.

Rodriquez jumps into guard, dragging MiG to the mat.
Rodriquez wants to sweep here but MiG controlling him for the moment.
MiG wants to get up but he can't break Rodriquez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rodriquez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but MiG can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodriquez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. MiG doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. MiG manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rodriquez is on top in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

MiG really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodriquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rodriquez is pushing down on MiG's leg trying to pass to half guard. MiG is fighting to maintain full guard but Rodriquez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rodriquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Rodriquez is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, MiG is hurt! He's hurt bad - Rodriquez fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save MiG from any more punishment! Congratulations to Rodriquez! Great finish!
