Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Gaylord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanaka Masatoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masatoshi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Reach kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Max Gaylord has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaylord on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Masatoshi forces Gaylord back against the cage and clinches.
Gaylord with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Masatoshi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gaylord takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gaylord could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Masatoshi scoring well with a low kick there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Masatoshi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Masatoshi.
Gaylord is breathing heavily.

Masatoshi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gaylord uses from the top position.

Masatoshi is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Masatoshi lands with a left to the head.

Masatoshi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gaylord thows a body shot but no joy.

Masatoshi darts in and clinches Gaylord up against the cage.

Masatoshi moves into range and clinches up with Gaylord.

Masatoshi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Masatoshi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gaylord to the mat! Gaylord manages to get full guard.

Masatoshi stands up and waves to Gaylord to follow him.

Masatoshi forces Gaylord back against the cage and clinches.

Masatoshi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Masatoshi manages to break the clinch.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Masatoshi! Gaylord is out on his feet! Masatoshi rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Gaylord is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Gaylord is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tanaka Masatoshi!
