Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vince Gomer (ranked 3900 p4p, 3915 weight class) and Reece Gregory (ranked 434 p4p, 436 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vince Gomer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reece Gregory!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregory shoots in but Gomer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gregory goes for a double leg but Gomer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gomer continues to drive forward.
Gomer misses with a head kick.
Gregory is looking to clinch but Gomer is avoiding it.
No luck for Gregory with that takedown attempt.
Vince Gomer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reece Gregory.
Gomer looks to land a combination but Gregory avoids it well.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gregory enables Gomer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gregory manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Gregory manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Gomer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gregory swivels and escapes.

Gomer throws a low kick, looking for Gregory's leg but Gregory calmly moves out of range.

and Gomer counters with a three punch combo that has Gregory backing up. Gregory nods at Gomer to acknowledge the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gomer moves in looking to clinch but Gregory pushes him off.

Gregory shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gregory tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gomer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gomer is refusing to be controlled, as Gregory sits in half guard.
Gomer tries to get to full guard but Gregory has control of the leg.

Gomer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gregory pulls his head out easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Vince Gomer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gomer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gregory was covering up waiting for the punch and Gomer finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gregory is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gomer presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Gregory breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The strikes coming from Gomer are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Gomer is looking to take a break and control but Gregory is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gomer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gregory will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gregory is trying to control the action in half guard but Gomer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Gregory seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gomer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gregory is trying to work for a kimura but Gomer is defending well.

Reece Gregory comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Gregory has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
