Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Lends (ranked 4638 p4p, 4820 weight class) and Cory Owens (ranked 153 p4p, 479 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Lends!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Owens!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens closes the distance and clinches up with Lends, looking for a takedown. Owens pushes Lends against the cage but Lends circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like Lends was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Owens.
Owens keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lends throws a body punch but Owens moves out of range.
Lends lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lends tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Owens swivels and escapes.
Owens rushes Lends and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Owens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lends walks away with a smile on his face. Owens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Owens shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lends as he avoids it easily.
It looked like Lends was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Josh Lends has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cory Owens.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lends has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lends gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Owens.
Owens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lends throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Horrible takedown attempt by Owens or perhaps it was just good defense by Lends, which made it look bad.
Owens gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Owens jumps guard and drags Lends to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Owens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lends manages to get himself to full guard.
Owens is working Lends over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lends can't keep his opponent in guard - Owens advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Owens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lends's waist but Lends gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Owens off to one side.

That was a close second round but I would say that Josh Lends will probably get the nod.

Lends postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Owens is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lends, into his guard.

Owens slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ground and pound from Owens seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
A lull in the action here as Owens stalls from top position.
Owens is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lends knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lends tries to improve position but can't.
Owens stands up and beckons Lends to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lends misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Owens takes the fight into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight!
Cory Owens comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Owens has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
