Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Washington (ranked 24228 p4p, 23608 weight class) and John Johnston (ranked 161 p4p, 165 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Xavier Washington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johnston!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston throws a sloppy head kick
and Washington cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A looping hook to the body misses from Johnston. Washington does a little dance to reset his feet.
A head kick misses from Johnston.
John Johnston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Washington moves out of range of the strikes.
Johnston throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Washington's head.
It looks like Xavier Washington has been cut.
Johnston lands a nice leg kick that just misses Washington's sensitive parts.
Washington takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Washington takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnston throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Washington lands a big uppercut and Johnston crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Johnston looks OK. Washington waves Johnston back to his feet!
It looks like John Johnston has been cut.
Washington takes a swing at Johnston's ribcage but misses.
Johnston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looked like Washington wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Johnston throws a body shot but no joy.
A counter left hand to the body from Washington misses its target.
Washington lands with a right hand.
Washington feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Johnston sprawling to the canvas! Johnston rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Washington finish him?!
Johnston is rocked!
Johnston dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Washington moves out of range of the body kick from Johnston.
Johnston throws a head kick but Washington moves out of range.
Washington tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnston goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Johnston throws a head kick that misses.

Johnston throws a front kick aimed at Washington's knee but Washington avoids it well.
Johnston throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice shot lands for Johnston.
Washington drops Johnston with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Johnston looks back up at him and smiles so Washington waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Johnston is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Washington doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Johnston crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Johnston's bad books for that mishap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Xavier Washington!
A relieved looking Xavier Washington thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
