Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ameliano Cassemiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassemiro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cassemiro misses with a takedown attempt - Porter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Porter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cassemiro. Cassemiro obviously looking to wear him down.
A right-left combo lands from Porter.
Porter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Porter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Cassemiro throws and low kick but Porter moves out of range easily.

Porter lands a high kick to the side of Cassemiro's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Porter dives into guard, looking to finish.

It looks like Ameliano Cassemiro has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Porter is looking to work some ground and pound but Cassemiro has wrist control.

Cassemiro has his foot on Porter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Porter works his way back into a safe position though.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Porter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Porter connects with a nice short shot to Cassemiro's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Porter misses with a head shot. Cassemiro uses the momentum to regain guard.
Porter wants to control from the top but Cassemiro keeps moving.

Cassemiro has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Porter is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cassemiro.

Cassemiro had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Porter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cassemiro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Porter's back instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
