Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edd Norton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balal Lama!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton throws out a powerful jab.
Lama looks to land a combination but Norton avoids it well.
Lama fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Norton misses with a body shot.
Lama takes one to the chin there.
Norton lands with a nice combination. Lama backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Balal Lama has been cut.
Norton jabs Lama right on the nose. Lama blinks but takes it well.
Lama avoids the body shot from Norton.

Lama closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Norton's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Norton has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Lama trying to control the position from guard on top but Norton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lama wants to pass the guard but Norton is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Lama with a flurry of punches that miss.
Norton keeping moving, preventing Lama from controlling successfully.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lama trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lama missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lama throws a big elbow that misses.
Lama engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lama throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Norton counters with a nice body shot.
Norton seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lama. Norton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Norton bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Balal Lama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lama fails to land the takedown.
Norton throwing a counter right hand but Lama manages to avoid it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lama moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Lama shoots in but no luck this time.
Norton is looking to counter punch.
Edd Norton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Balal Lama.
Lama swings for the body but Norton moves out of range.
Norton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Norton cracks Lama with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lama fails with the takedown
and Norton counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Norton scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lama misses the body punch
and Lama takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

As Norton backs off Lama throws a huge counter combo but Norton manages to avoid it all.
Lama thows a left - swing and a miss!
Edd Norton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Norton lands with a straight right. Lama didn't see that one coming.
Lama uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Norton has time to react.
Norton is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Lama shoots for a double leg takedown but Norton sprawls well. He's pushed Lama's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lama takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lama tries to clinch up
and Lama takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Norton fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Lama to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Lama looks to clinch but Norton throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Lama taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Edd Norton!
Edd Norton bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
