And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koos Van Asch!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Van Asch avoids it really well and circles away.

Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lee passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Van Asch!
Lee controlling the pace for now.
Lee trying to control but he's not successful this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Asch has given up his back.
Van Asch is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Lee is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Van Asch is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Lee off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

I really don't envy Van Asch right now.

Van Asch looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

We've been hearing good reports from Lee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Van Asch rolls, trying to escape but Lee keeps control of the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lee is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Van Asch knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Van Asch for a finish.

Lee is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Van Asch defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lee controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cj Lee dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Van Asch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.
Van Asch tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lee fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lee shoots in and drives through. Van Asch sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cj Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Van Asch throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Van Asch lands a big right hand that sends Lee crashing to the mat! Van Asch stays standing though and waves Lee back to his feet!

Lee is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lee ducks into an uppercut from Van Asch and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
