Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Petrov (ranked 4094 p4p, 3393 weight class) and Hiroshi Papo (ranked 189 p4p, 160 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Hiroshi Papo enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Petrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroshi Papo!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Petrov both land. Nice combination.

Papo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Papo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

My spies in Advanced Fitness Inc. inform me that Papo has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Petrov has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Papo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Petrov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Papo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Papo working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Petrov's thigh. Petrov counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Petrov has his foot on Papo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Papo works his way back into a safe position though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Petrov throws a body punch but Papo moves out of range.
Papo shoots and misses
and Petrov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Petrov gets caught flat footed, as Papo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Petrov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Petrov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Papo stacks Petrov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Papo!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Papo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Petrov seems a little lost for a moment, as Papo dominates the positioning.
Petrov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Papo off and has taken his back!
Petrov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Petrov has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Papo escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Papo!

That's time! Petrov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Papo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Peter Petrov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hiroshi Papo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Papo blocks Petrov's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Hiroshi Papo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Papo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
