Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Chong (ranked 4746 p4p, 25008 weight class) and Clifford Val Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Chong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Chong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clifford Val Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Chong tries for a takedown but Salvacion circles away easily

and Salvacion decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chong's guard.
Chong is looking to stand back up but Salvacion counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Chong.

Chong wants to improve his position but Salvacion is controlling well.

Salvacion is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chong defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chong is concentrating on defense, preventing Salvacion from advancing position.

Chong is refusing to be controlled, as Salvacion sits in half guard.
Chong keeping hold of Salvacion's head, controlling as best he can.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Salvacion passes into side control, despite Chong's attempt to control the position.

Chong is trying to control Salvacion's posture but Salvacion avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Chong shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Salvacion is controlling Chong's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Chong seems to be working for a kimura but Salvacion defends the submission attempt.

Chong is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Chong is working for an americana but Salvacion has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Chong was thinking about the submission.
Salvacion looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chong is one step ahead there.
Salvacion preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Chong trying to control the position from guard on top but Salvacion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Chong shoots in and gets a takedown into Salvacion's guard.

Chong has gone for a leg lock! Salvacion slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chong's guard.


Chong throws his legs up looking for a submission but Salvacion uses it to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Chong's shoulder. That is not cool.

Salvacion is looking to take a break and control but Chong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Chong keeps Salvacion under control for a moment.
Chong is trying to get back to half guard.
Salvacion trying to control the position but Chong is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You can see the frustration on Chong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Chong is looking for a sweep.
Chong is not content to let Salvacion control the position.

Chong is trying to control Salvacion's posture but Salvacion avoids it.
Salvacion trying to control the position but Chong is working away.
Chong tries to bench press Salvacion off him but Salvacion keeps the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Salvacion or perhaps it was just good defense by Chong, which made it look bad.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Chong changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Salvacion looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Chong laying and praying for a moment but Salvacion takes advantage and regains half guard.
Chong trying to control from half guard but Salvacion is working away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Chong is looking for a kimura but Salvacion is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chong to get the leverage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Chong dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Salvacion shoots in and drives through. Chong sprawls well.

Chong looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Salvacion keeping moving, preventing Chong from controlling successfully.
Salvacion managing to control the position.

Salvacion is trying to keep Chong in close.
Salvacion might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chong haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Chong is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Chong is looking to work some ground and pound but Salvacion has wrist control.
Chong wants to control from the top but Salvacion keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Salvacion avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Chong looking to sit in guard and control but Salvacion gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Salvacion trying to control the position from guard on top but Chong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chong is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chong pulls Salvacion in close to his closed guard and prevents Salvacion from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Chong closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Salvacion's guard.

Salvacion kicks Chong off and gets to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chong slaps away a takedown attempt from Salvacion, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Salvacion looks to throw a body kick

and Chong counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Salvacion's head.

Chong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Salvacion is just riding it out for now. Chong eventually gives up the hold.
Chong wants to pass the guard but Salvacion is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tommy Chong showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Chong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
