Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Asai (ranked 1595 p4p, 3172 weight class) and Jimbo Kreutz (ranked 87 p4p, 148 weight class). Asai comes to the cage accompanied by Dragon. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 23 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoshihiro Asai !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimbo Kreutz!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreutz tries for a takedown but Asai sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kreutz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Kreutz swings for the body but Asai moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Asai on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Asai throws a leg kick which misses Kreutz's front leg but catches the back leg as Kreutz tries to avoid it.
Asai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kreutz manages to avoid it.
Kreutz misses with a body shot.

And Kreutz tries to counter it with a takedown but Asai pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Kreutz drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Asai defends it well.

Asai has one foot on Kreutz's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kreutz shoots in looking for a takedown. Asai tries to sprawl out of it but Kreutz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Asai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Asai dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kreutz. That did some damage!

Kreutz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Asai moves away.

Asai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Asai lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Kreutz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Asai can pounce on him.

Kreutz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asai looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kreutz wants to control but Asai is keeping him busy.

Kreutz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kreutz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kreutz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Asai is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kreutz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Asai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Asai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Asai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kreutz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Asai has managed to get both his arms back between Kreutz's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kreutz has his foot on Asai 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Asai works his way back into a safe position though.

I would just about give that final round to Jimbo Kreutz.
