Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Brown (ranked 2590 p4p, 6550 weight class) and Rob Gross (ranked 338 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Some Bodies Gonna Get It. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gross moves out of range of the leg kick from Brown.
Gross misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brown throws a big counter combination but Gross scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Brown misses with a few strikes there.

Brown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gross sprawls well initially but Brown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brown lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gross is trying to control but Brown manages to pass to mount!
Brown breaks from Gross's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Gross is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Brown controlling the position easily from mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brown lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Gross is desperately trying to improve his position but Brown has a good base and remains in mount.
Gross is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee warns Gross that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Gross is rocked!
Gross takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Brown's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

A relieved looking John Brown thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
